Not just children, this is one of the popular Hyderabad sightseeing places that attracts everyone. It was inaugurated in the year of 1985 by the late Sri N.T.Rama Rao.
This planetarium is the first phase of the Birla Science centre in Hyderabad, which was nothing less than a landmark in bridging the gap between science and the common masses. This dome shaped structure was developed with the technological help from Japan. This place presents its visitors with the latest information about the Universe and about various inventions and theories related to it.
It not only educates but also entertains its visitors in different ways. Birla Planetarium in Hyderabad presents international standards of presentation, which has been rated among the best and highly visited planetariums of the world. Its cosmic presentation can be easily considered at par with those in Europe, Japan and the US. It is a place for everyone and can be afforded by everyone too as the Birla Planetarium entry fee is also minimal. However, kids below the age of 4 years are not allowed for the sky show.

There are many options for Birla Planetarium shows timings so we easily booked a show and went..Without much problem. They also have shows in three languages.. we went for Telugu..they have in English and Hindi too. I took my kids after office hours..so went for the evening show at 6:45 p.m. There are shows from afternoon itself. The good part is this place is open throughout the week.

We went few weeks back. This place is good for kinds of students I feel. It was informative about lots of planets and all. It seems everywhere they have some new concept based shows. This year its Mangalyaan to Mars. Although the quality should be much better, it is worth going once at least. Birla Planetarium is offers definitely something different from other hangout in the city.

This Birla Planetarium in Hyderabad is like any other planetarium. Here the interesting thing is that they have different shows every year which is good as they present shows on recent developments in science. The show is not hi-fi, it's mostly basic kind of projection of slides and sounds but younger kids will enjoy it for sure. For their parents it will be boring! Shows are also in three languages so it is even more easy for kids to understand.

I took my kid thinking she will have some entertaining yet educative time. There are not many kid centric places in Hyderabad, everyone said Birla Planetarium is good so we went. The show was almost 40 minutes, but it was so boring…my kid didn’t like it at all! It was all about slideshows and videos from a stand by projection, nothing else! Thankfully Birla planetarium Hyderabad entry fee is less.

We went there in a group..I and my friends took our children along with us. We clubbed it with our visit to Birla Mandir Hyderabad. Both are quite nearby. We took 3 pm Telugu show..they have many show timings here at Birla Planetarium. It was a weekday so we were the only people attending the show! After seeing the show we understood why! The quality of projection is not good..even the show is quite boring..they can make it little interesting and maybe update their equipments.

This place is nothing more than theatre. Planetarium is different from just showing some pictures but here at Birla Planetarium Hyderabad all they show is some picture of Mangalyaan and its tours. The projection was not of a good quality. Pictures were still okay but sound was not and the way it was presented was so-so. I won’t go there again.

This planetarium in Hyderabad is okay. I won’t say it is awesome but you can go if you want to do something different or have some time to spend. The projection quality is not very good but they have used good educative subjects which can be beneficial for students and kids. Birla planetarium ticket price is also very less that you won’t even mind spending some time here.
