History of ISKCON Temple
This temple in Hyderabad is a part of the international religious organisation ISKCON. Also known as the Hare Krishna movement, the International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) was founded by A. C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada in 1966, in New York City.
Today, more than 800 ISKCON centres globally spread the ideologies of Swami Prabhupada, teachings from the Bhagavad Gita, Bhagavata Purana and other Vedic scriptures, and the practice of loving Lord Krishna.
Things to do at Hyderabad ISKCON Temple
People come here to pray in peace and get the blessings of Lord Krishna. You can pray in the temple, or spend time in the garden and lose yourself in the aura. Another major attraction of the temple is the Bhakti Vriksha centre. Here, devotees are taught various Bhakti yogas to gain consciousness about their own self.
You'll also find ISKCON devotees chanting the divine Hare Rama Hare Krishna around the temple and in the streets of the city. This activity is known as Harinam Sankirtan, and you too can participate in it.
Hyderabad ISKCON Temple also celebrates various festivals with fervour. And you must visit the temple during these festivals and take blessings. Janmashtami, Jagannath Rath Yatra and Ram Navami are among the popular ones celebrated here. Balram Jayanti and Radhashtami are among the other festivals during which the temple draws huge crowds.
At ISKCON in Hyderabad, you also have few other places to visit. From the shop on the premises, you can get various Vedic books and other literature regarding ISKCON. And souvenirs and other items for gifting are also available for purchase.

ISKCON Abids Hyderabad Timings and Entry Fee
ISKCON Temple Hyderabad opening timings are from 4.30 AM to 12.30 PM and 4.30 PM to 8.30 PM. There is no entry fee for the darshan.
Darshan begins with Mangala Aarti at 4.30 AM, followed by Tulasi Puja Aarti (5 AM), Japa Meditation (5.15 AM) and Srimad Bhagavatam Discourse (6.30 AM). Then the Sringar Darshan ritual begins at 7.30 AM, followed by the 7.45 AM Guru Puja. The doors are closed for the afternoon with Raj Bhoga Aarti at 12.30 PM.
The darshan is then paused from 12.30 PM to 4:30 PM.
ISKCON Hyderabad timings for evening darshan begins with Usthapana Aarti at 4.30 PM. And towards the end of the day, you can be a part of the Sandhya Aarti (7 PM), Bhagavad Gita Discourse (7.40 PM) and Shayana Aarti (8.30 PM). Temple is closed for the day after that.
Apart from the daily rituals, the temple also hosts various social programs on Sundays. These include the Sunday Children School, Youth Program and the special ISKCON Hyderabad Sunday feast (from 2.30 PM to 3.30 PM).
Best time to visit ISKCON Temple
Although the temple is open throughout the year, it is best to visit it during winter. The winter starts in November and lasts till February. And during these winter months, the climate is mild and cold. So, your visit will be comfortable.

ISKCON Temple in Abids Hyderabad is in the city centre and accessible from all corners of Hyderabad. It is only one km away from Nampally railway station, and 26 km away from the airport. And here are the different ways to reach ISKCON Hyderabad –
By metro – Gandhi Bhavan and Nampally metro station (Both on the Red line of Hyderabad Metro) are the closest to ISKCON Temple. They are only a few hundred metres away. And from there, you can walk or hire a taxi/auto to reach the temple.
By bus – You can also take a public bus to ISKCON Temple. Abids GPO bus stop is the closest, only a few hundred metres away. From there, you can walk or get a taxi/auto.
By taxi/cab – Taxis and cabs are the most convenient way to reach the temple. You can hire a taxi from top car rental companies in Hyderabad for ISKCON. It will take you about 30 minutes to an hour to be here from most parts of the city. And you can also comfortably visit other places of tourist interest in the city.
